How to Plan and Build Fireplaces Menlo Park, California: Lane Books 1974 96 Pages David's Thoughts: In the early and mid 70's, many people tried their hand at writing pointless how to books and see them at a small profit. I wrote one in the mid 80's for the same purpose that sold a few copies. This book falls into the same category. Some one took a lot of great black and white pictures of creative fireplaces and filled in some words to make a sellable book. I actually got some good information out of it. There are a several drawings on details of the construction of a fireplace that I never understood before. It does show how they are designed and it gave me enough information to be able to build the fireplace that I would like to see in our cabin. It originally sold for $2.45 and at one time it sold for $1.00 used. That put me off the price I paid of $2.98 at Half Price Books in Corpus Christi. I think the information was worth the $1.00 price, but with the drawings and size charts, it should have been sold for $2.45. I am sure I should not complain, I found it for sale for $5.95 not including shipping on some miscelaneous clearance site. Book's Description: Return to Book List | Return to Books Purchased
